Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 11, 2026
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what information PulseMe ("we", "us") collects when you use the PulseMe app or website (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have.
2. Information We Collect
- Account information — your phone number or email address (used for sign-in verification), display name, bio, and profile photo if you add one.
- Location data — the device location you allow us to use to show nearby pulses, and the location you attach to each pulse you post. The location of a pulse is visible to other users.
- Content — pulses, messages, reviews, and other content you create in the app.
- Usage and device data — basic technical information such as device type, app version, and log data generated when you use the Service.
- Push notification tokens — if you enable notifications, a device token used to deliver them.
3. How We Use Information
- To operate the Service: show nearby pulses, deliver messages, display profiles and reviews.
- To verify your identity at sign-in (one-time verification codes).
- To send notifications you have enabled (e.g. new messages).
- To keep the Service safe: prevent fraud, enforce our Terms of Service, and moderate reported content.
- To improve the Service through aggregate, de-identified usage analysis.
4. What Other Users See
Your display name, profile photo, bio, average rating, reviews about you, and your active pulses (including their chosen location) are visible to other users. Your phone number and email address are never shown to other users.
5. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:
- Service providers that help us run the Service (e.g. hosting, SMS/email delivery, push notifications), bound to use it only on our behalf;
- Authorities when required by law or to protect the safety of users or the public;
- A successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
6. Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. Expired pulses are removed from public view. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
7. Your Choices and Rights
- Location — you can revoke location permission in your device settings; core discovery features will not work without it, but you can still pick a pulse location manually.
- Notifications — you can turn push notifications off in the app or device settings.
- Access, correction, deletion — you can edit your profile in the app, and request a copy or deletion of your data by emailing support@pulseme-app.com.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS) and access controls. No system is completely secure; please keep your sign-in codes private.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy here and update the date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
